AIUsageWatch
Cursor / Provider guide

Cursor usage,
within easy reach.

Bring Cursor’s included-usage figure into the Mac menu bar, alongside the other AI accounts you use.

From a separate account page to a quick glance

AIUsageWatch reads Cursor’s own included-usage figure and displays the remaining proportion as a colored bar. Click the menu bar item for percentages and the reset time when available. The app does not name this a weekly allowance: the source payload provides a reset time without naming the usage period.

Connect your Safari session

Sign in at cursor.com in Safari. Open AIUsageWatch Preferences and grant access to Safari’s Cookies.binarycookies file. The Cursor reader uses that existing session rather than an account directory. It does not directly read the Keychain or ask you to create an AIUsageWatch login.

Separate configuration-directory support for Claude and Codex does not apply to Cursor. Adding another Cursor row does not create a different authenticated identity; the reader still uses the available Safari session. This distinction is useful if you are planning to monitor several accounts.

See Cursor in the context of your other tools

A Cursor bar next to Claude or Codex can help you choose which tool to check before a task. It does not automatically route requests, switch provider accounts or treat equal percentages as equal amounts of work. A Cursor included-usage figure and a Claude weekly allowance can refer to different units and periods.

When a refresh fails

The app keeps the last good reading and reports its age with the error. Check the Safari session and cookie-file permission, then use Refresh now when you want another attempt. A saved balance can be stale, and provider endpoints may change. Check Cursor’s account page when the value or reset looks unexpected.

Common questions

Does AIUsageWatch treat Cursor usage as weekly?

No. It uses Cursor’s own included-usage figure and available reset time. The payload does not name the period, so the app does not assume it is a weekly quota.

Is AIUsageWatch free and available for Mac?

AIUsageWatch is a free native macOS app requiring macOS 14 or later. Its public release is in preparation. Provider plans and charges still apply.
